Dr. Stephen R. Price, born and raised in Huntsville, AL, dedicated decades of his life to the field of endodontics before his retirement in February 2023. After earning his undergraduate degree in chemistry from Auburn University, he pursued his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) at the University of Alabama School of Dentistry, graduating in 1978. Following his residency at the same institution in Birmingham, AL, Dr. Price began practicing endodontics in Decatur in 1980.
Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Price was an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Association of Endodontists, the American Dental Association, the Wilson-Chenault Study Club of Decatur, the Southern Endodontic Study Group, and the Rotary Club of Decatur. His expertise and dedication to root canal treatment earned him respect among colleagues and patients alike.
Now retired, Dr. Price enjoys embracing his passions outside of dentistry—reading, golfing, boating, and cooking. Most importantly, he takes great pride in being a devoted father to his two children, Jared and Stephanie.
Everyone I interacted with at PriceDenton was friendly and professional.After confirming my appointment via text, a link was supplied and I completed the new patient forms online. An estimated out-of-pocket cost was provided before my appointment.I was greeted upon arrival and provided my identification.After a short wait, the doctor's assistant took me for scans to ensure the doctor was fully informed before he began my procedure. She was wonderful. She answered all my questions and kept me informed about the next steps.Dr. Price is great! During my root canal he was gentle and reassuring. The procedure was virtually painless. He talked to me throughout.Everything went as expected during checkout. I was thanked and sent home with directions and prescriptions.A great experience!
This was my first root canal and my first visit to Denton and Price Endodontics, and I was extremely nervous due to an overwhelming experience at another dentist the week before.The team was kind, explained everything before doing it, and told me what to expect. They offered a weighted vest and even let me keep my glasses on, which really helped ease my anxiety. The procedure was quick, smooth, and much easier than I imagined.Highly recommend, especially if you’re nervous about dental work!

My entire experience with Price Denton was fantastic. Scheduling was efficient and easy, on line forms easy to fill out, staff were professional, friendly and accommodating. Most importantly, level of care was top-notch. Dr. Denton evaluated my situation and quickly provided expert judgment on treatment needed. Highly recommend this group for your dental/endodontic needs.
My experience was nothing short of spectacular. The office staff was excellent but the real surprise was Dr Price. I was literally in the chair for 20 minutes total (10 of those were spent waiting for the tooth to numb). I highly recommend this office.
